Although we may not have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a wedding venue here in Grand Junction, there are certainly some great options to choose from. From the point of view of a wedding photographer, some locations are better than others.
Amy’s Courtyard is nestled right in the middle of Palisade’s wine country. Backdrop options for wedding photos range from vineyards overlooking Mount Garfield and the Grand Mesa, a pond (complete with waterfall), gazebos and of course that great rustic style barn. As a wedding photographer, I love this venue for all of the great photo ops, but hey, they also make really good wine : )
The Chateau at the Two Rivers Winery is another great location form the point of view of a wedding photographer. Stone archways, vineyards and a great view of the Colorado National Monument. This venue has a ton of great photo ops, and again, really good wine : )
This one isn’t exactly in Grand Junction, but Pioneer Town is a wedding photographer’s dream. There are literally hundreds of great background options here. There are walls made from barn wood, bricks and stone, great landscaping and split rail fences everywhere, an entire old west town and the little white wedding chapel. You can’t go wrong with pictures here!
Not a lot of people are aware that you can actually get a permit to get married on the Colorado National Monument. This is not only a great place to have your wedding portraits done, but this is a great money saver as long as you aren’t expecting a huge number of guests.
